Galgotias University Hosts 10th Convocation Ceremony, Celebrates Academic Excellence of 6,656 Graduates
Galgotias University successfully held its 10th Convocation Ceremony, awarding degrees to 6,656 students in the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Dr. A. S. Kiran Kumar. The event highlighted academic excellence, discipline, sustainability, and strong placement achievements.
The ceremony was attended by chief guest Dr. A. S. Kiran Kumar, Padma Shri awardee and former Chairman of ISRO, along with dignitaries Umashankar Pandey, a Padma Shri awardee and well-known social activist, and Dr. R. G. Agarwal, Chairman Emeritus of Dhanuka Agritech Limited. Special guests Nagendra Goyal, Joint Commissioner at Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Government of India, and Vinit Goenka were also present.
The convocation marked a significant milestone as 6,656 graduating students across various disciplines were awarded degrees. The ceremony included 73 Ph.D scholars, 3,953 undergraduates, 2,250 postgraduates, 199 diploma recipients and 181 integrated Programme students, demonstrating the breadth of academics at Galgotias University.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Kiran Kumar emphasized that continuous learning has become increasingly more important as technology continues to advance rapidly. He encouraged graduates to remain continually curious and adaptable, urging them to view graduation not as an end to formal education but as the beginning of a lifetime of continuing education. He also highlighted the need for awareness in the use of smartphones and the impact of technology, advising students to remain in control of their digital behavior.
The Chancellor congratulated the graduates and spoke on the institution’s path to excellence and recognition worldwide. He acknowledged the challenges faced by students and stated that such challenges build resiliency and strength. Drawing a comparison between trees that survive storms and hurricanes, he noted that perseverance through adversity contributes to future success.
Dr. R. G. Agarwal stressed that discipline is essential for achieving future success. He stated that consistency, structure of thought and the ability to self-regulate are necessary for both professional growth and personal development.
Uma Shankar Pandey delivered a strong message on water conservation, highlighting the irony of society not recognizing its water usage while a vast marketplace exists for selling water. He challenged the youth to contribute to a sustainable future by adopting renewable sources of water.
The university also informed attendees about its strong placement performance during the past academic year, supported by collaborations with companies in the technology and business sectors, including Infosys, Cognizant Technologies, Accenture, Ernst & Young (EY), and Capgemini. The university maintains a hiring network consisting of over 1,200 companies.
Reiterating its commitment to excellence in academic performance, innovation and holistic development, Galgotias University conveyed to graduates that they will always remain part of its ever-expanding worldwide community, underscoring the lasting significance of the institution in shaping future professionals.
